3 Key Personal Attributes to Develop in University Studies


Success is a big words that every one wants to talk about. Success stories are very uplifting and gives motivation and inspiration. No one wants to be a failure at the end of the day,  every one wants to succeed in something whether  it be a something big like buying your dream car or something small like you just found out how to fix your light bulbs in the house. Despite the size, success gives positive and uplifting energy, however the road to success is never an easy undertaking and there is no golden rule to succeed in any undertakings.

Students studying in universities aim to be successful in their studies and get a good job at the end of their studies. Having success in mind, I have learned that, there are three most critical qualities that one should develop succeed in university studies.

1. Responsible

Learn to be responsible to succeed. Both in life and as student, developing an habit of taking responsibility is vital. Learn to be responsible in your life. It develops a feeling of being liable towards important aspects such as studies,  researches, projects, assignments etc.

2. Self Disciplined
Self discipline is key to an orderly and organised lifestyle. The mind is a very powerful tool but it is very tricky. It generates new desires, aspirations, thoughts, emotions etc every time in response to the what the our senses feed. Some of which can be very disturbing while others are good and others are good and inspiring. Whatever it is, we must be able to control to control it. Bad influences are very overpowering that it deceives one to fall easily. Having control over emotions and thoughts buys time to re-examine and evaluate that assertive decisions can be made that will benefit.

3. Commitment 

Nothing is free in this world, everything must be earned through commitment and handwork. Some energy must be invested in order to reap it goodness. In universities, there is total freedom that one can easily lose focus on his or her primary purpose. This is a very common among most student in colleges and universities around the world. One must be able to develop an habit to be committed to whats more important and whats necessary. In order to achieve that, the very first task in to identify the primary purposes and goals of being. Once primary objectives are identified, invest some time and energy towards achieving them. One tends to do what he do because he has to do as it gives a pleasant and rewarding outcome.


These three qualities are connected to one another. If one is self disciplined, he will be able to be responsible and committed and vice versa.
